Always learning

I'm in Dallas. Okay, so I am bragging...the weather is supposed to hit 81 degrees today. I am here for a 5 day intensive class with the master of wedding photography, Jerry Ghionis. Not only is he an incredible photographer, he is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. (Then there's the Australian accent!) I thought that I would share some of the pictures I took under his direction. Can you tell that we have been working on dramatic lighting? Enjoy! I'll post some more after our outdoor shoot today.

Favorite Album Pages

I really love this time of year. It is when I get to focus in on designing new sample albums and products for the new year. It gives me a chance to play, learn, and search out new vendors. I thought that I would share some of my favorite album pages.

Finally, I got my computer back and I can get back to work. Digital photography really has changed the complexion of a photographer's workflow... they now spend most of their time behind a computer...SO...if the computer is down...the work stops! The up side of digital photography is the amazing things that you can do with the graphics.

Okay, back to the wedding. The last of my October run of weddings was Lauren and Brandon. Aren't they beautiful. The day was great and they were delightful to work with. Both the wedding and the reception were held at the Grand in New Albany but we made a location stop that gave us some absolutely beautiful picture.

Amy and Jared

An outdoor wedding, on a lake, on a beautiful day in October is ALWAYS a good idea! What a great day. Amy and Jared are the most delightful couple. As lovely as it was...it was relaxed. The Bride wore flip-flops (with sequins of course) and the Groom wore tennis shoes...and it worked!!! However, the one feeling the most lovely on Saturday was the flower girl. She was the best little model a photographer could hope for. I could have done the whole blog on just her.

Jessica and Aaron

What a great evening. Jessica and Aaron were great to work with. We went to a lot of different venues. Their wedding is in January...wouldn't it be great to have a light snow for the pics but not enough to cancel or interfere with the day! I love those pics...they are SO beautiful.

Lisa and Dennis

Lisa and Dennis are a week and a half away from their wedding and seemed SO relaxed at their recent engagement session. I have to admit I would have been a little more anxious. I hope that this great weather holds out for all of the October weddings. It made this session so easy and so fun...great weather...relaxed couple...what more could a photographer want!

Lindsey and Nathan

What a fun day! Lindsey and Nathan were relaxed, happy and so easy to work with. Don't you love her dress. The bridal party was beautiful and willing to do anything that was asked of them. The wedding was at 2nd Presbyterian and the reception was at the Glassworks. Downtown is always a great place for pictures.
